Plum Rootstocks

Myrobolan

This is a semi-dwarf rootstock adaptable to various soil conditions. It has a shallow root system but produces well-anchored trees. It is resistant to the heavy-textured, argillaceous and calcareous soils as well as the root knot nematodes. The trees grafted on Myrobolan bear fruit at an early age. It is also used as a rootstock for most of the apricot varieties.

Marianna 2624

This is semi-dwarf rootstock with a shallow root system. It is less vigorous than Myrobolan 29 C. Marianna 2664 is much more tolerant to the heavy-textured and argillaceous soils. It is resistant to the root-knot nematodes and sensitive to bacterial cancer. It is also used as the rootstock for some of the apricot varieties.

Pixy

It is about 40-50 percent of the standard plum seedling size. The rootstock is productive and vigorous in the soil rich in organic matter and the soil with good filtering ability.  It bears fruit after 3 years and requires watering and good soil conditions. Pixy is suitable for high-density planting.

Marianna GF 8/1

The rootstock’s root system is shallower than Myrobolan 29 C. It is suitable for the soils with high water-holding capacity.
